Fun Stuff!

Well we officially started our Gymboree classes!  and to my surprise they’re actually a lot of of fun!  We go about twice a week for an hour, all the kids in his age group are 6-10 months.  He loves looking at all the little kiddos his age, sometimes he just stares at them in awe haha especially because some are crawling around him- so hes taking notice of their mobility!

He LOVES the instructors (especially the girls lol), what a ham!  He also gets super excited when he see the parachute and “Jimbo” (their clown) come out.   When he gets excited he does his “excited dance” haha and shakes his hands- its hilarious!  The class is nothing over the top, but its just nice to get out for some fun, and hear some ‘new’ songs and play with ‘new’ things.  His smiling face makes it all worth it!

I promise this was the only time I took pictures, we had to it was the 1st class! lol

A little late on the 6 month update, but what can we say- our hands are full!  We have taken it up a notch once again as Lucas continues to change.  The one thing I have learned about having a child (besides it being demanding lol) is that it doesn’t get harder and definitely doesn’t get easier- it just CHANGES!  Always.   Change is something that I personally was not good with, although Jason is much better since he’s a go with the flow kinda guy.  As Lucas grows older, develops, and hits the milestones we have to adapt to all the changes.  I feel like I get so used to one way and in the blink of an eye, we’re onto the new.

Through the journey of our last 6 months, our lives have done a complete 180.   Parenting can be so demanding and challenging at times, but we love it and its so worth it!  We feel so blessed to have Lucas in our life, he is amazing!  It is a little scary how fast he is growing though.   You always hear those kinds of things when you have a child- but never until you experience it do you truly understand and internalize everything.   He is so happy and loving, we can’t do anything but smile when we are with him.  (lol I bet we won’t be saying that during his teenage years- but that’s what all the humiliating pictures are for, right?)  Its also funny to see such a young human have such a personality, what a goober!  I definitely think he gets that from his father- no doubt!

Anyway, on to the updates!  Lucas is 17.5 lbs (50th percentile) & 27.5 inches tall (85th percentile).  He is mobile now- by means of rolling over and over again.  He is also sitting up now, which he LOVES!  That means playing and bath time are that much better!  …and yes his ears are growing right along with him lol

He has also been eating his cereal & veggies (which we are proud to say are homemade) lol all I have to say is it was more work then we’d thought it would be.  We decided to make a weekend out of it so we could stock up!  Not only was it cheaper- it does taste WAY better then store bought baby food!  We’re happy to say he enjoys them all so far!  He gets so excited to eat, he says “mmmm” the whole time, flings his hands & feet the whole time in excitement, and you can’t get it his mouth fast enough!  He loves to ‘feed himself’ as we say- aka play with his spoon & food!  We let him have at it for dinner because he goes straight in the bath after- but even after that we’ll find some more- in his ears, nose, eyes, lol its never ending.  We can enjoy dinner again as a family because he has something to do now too!

We’ll have some more 6 month pictures to come soon!  For now, here’s a little tease of our growing boy &  some video we figured out how to upload too!

5 Months!

Thats right, Lucas is now 5 months today!  We have been pretty occupied lately with some of life’s challenges, but were happy to say Lucas’ smile can get us though some of life’s hardest moments.   We  are thinking of all our wonderful friends and family and hope that you all are doing well, and enjoying the holiday season.

We have had a pretty rough month, but were comin along.   Lucas got pretty sick last week and we had to take him to the urgent care when he randomly spiked a fever.  When we got there it was 104.2 so we did some tests to rule out some things,  since overall he had been in pretty good health & it came from nowhere.  We had to go to the hospital for some blood work, and basically it was some sort of viral infection.  It was so sad to see him like that, and very stressful too.  You know, the fun stuff that comes along with parenting right?  Once the fever passed after a few days, he developed a horrible cold- which he still has.  But he has been a trooper and was in a much better mood this week! Thank god lol Because boy ohhhhhhh boy does it change your parenting experience!  Luckily, he started feeling better just in time for Christmas- so we could go visit Santa & take his 5 month picstures!  Ho Ho Ho ;)

On a very sad note, my Grandmother passed away Tuesday.  It has been pretty hard on all of us, and I still can’t believe it.  I miss hearing her laugh- its contagious!  She also had this glow, her eyes sparkled and her smile lit any room.   Sometimes I feel unbearable that I couldn’t see her one more time before she had passed, but I remember the last phone call I had with her days before.  I will never forget it.  lol she kept saying we hold Lucas toooo much (mainly my mom lol) and also how to adjust to being a new mom- encouraging me to get back out there!  Telling me stories of what she used to do and how she managed mommy hood.  I will never forget that call and how supportive she was, as always.  We were so blessed to have her in our lives- she was an amazing, sharp, independent women, who you could have a great laugh with (you know the ones you laugh so hard you cry and pee yourself- lol those were the kinds of laughs we had with her!) ahhhhhh such great memories I will hold on tight to, and share with Lucas as he grows. . .

We love you Grandma!  See you on the flip side!

Lucas’ 5 Month Pictures

Lucas has been busy doing what he does best- growing! (As you can see, his ears are growing faster then the rest of his body lmao)  I guess being a new parent is always exciting since changes happen so often and so fast.  Man, we get excited over everything!  We are also starting to enjoy that he can occupy himself now too for a bit!  Gives my enough time to attempt a shower or do the dishes!  He loves bouncing away, eating his hands, grabbing his feet, rolling over, and throwing his binkies lol.  We can also see teething in the near future- with all this drooling, gnawing, and hands in his mouth all day, etc etc We just hope/ pray/ wish he takes it well ;)

We are now home sweet home from our first vacation with Lucas!  We took our annual Thanksgiving trip to Lake Havasu!  It was absolutely beautiful weather and great spending time with some friends and family!  I do have to say it was a challenge “vacationing” with a 4 month old lol.  Its hard to relax and just do your thing haha so it was also a learning experience!  He did great though, we just need a vacation from the vacation haha It was great getting back in Daddy’s truck and getting in the desert again- it had been a long time since I hadn’t over the past year while pregnant!  Makes us excited for when Lucas can get out there too- although it will be a while!  We had to hold back Grandpa Z from throwing him in the buggy though ;)

4 Months New!

Really, 4 months already?  Lucas just had his 4 month check-up and hes doing great!  He is now 14lbs 7 oz (50th percentile) and 26 inches tall (85th percentile).   Our little peanut is now jumping for joy all day long since he has found his legs.  He finally rolled over too! but only twice so far- so that was that haha He has also found his toes and grabbing for everything, so hes enjoying his toys more now!  ohhhh and he still hasn’t blinked yet lol

Daddy is taking us to get our Christmas tree this weekend!  Whoohooo!!!  Were excited for the holidays and cannot wait to see all our friends and family!

Happy Halloween!

A few days late but~ HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!  We spent the afternoon with family at Aunt Kimmy’s house.   Uncle Tony cooked us an awesome “linner,” we carved pumpkins, and then got the kiddos all ready.  (Between all this was a large consumptions of goodies!)   It was so much fun to have  Lucas experience his first Halloween- although he pretty much passed out right when we started trick-or-treating :)   After a short cat nap he was back up in action and got to trick-or-treat door to door with some of his cousins (Thanks to Daddy!)  He didn’t even notice all the scariness  so much- but more the decoration lights up at all the houses.  A lady gave Lucas a glow bracelet which caught his attention for a few, but that was about all he got out of his goodie bag haha but Mommy and Daddy helped him enjoy the rest of his treats ;)

Halloween is always so much fun- its so cool to see everyones creativity, great decorations at all he houses, and the sugar high of course!

ahhh I have a minute to myself this morning while everyone’s asleep, so I figured I’d catch up the blog a bit!  Lucas is now 3 months old!!!  We are having fun with our little guy and he has definitely taken it up a notch.  He can get quite loud at times yapping and squealing.  He has found his hands and they are just about always in his mouth.  His legs never stop moving, especially when changing his diapers or taking a bath.  He has just started drooling and blowing bubbles too- which can be messy at times lol  He also has to be sitting up basically at all times except for when hes sleeping or he gets pissed lol He is literally doing sit-ups, but he can’t stay up so he just falls back down.  Its quite entertaining though haha but we feel bad since he tries so hard but can’t stay.   He loves his walks in the stroller- but now he can sit like a big boy and gets to look around more.  We also got out some new goodies like the bouncy, bumbo, and entertainment system- so we have other stuff to “do” with him now that hes getting bigger.  Let the fun begin!

The topper is he has been sleeping through the night a little more!!!  (keeping fingers crossed!)  Less 4/5 am feedings!  We have to get up occasionally to readjust him (since he’s a wiggle worm and gets stuck sideways) or to give him a binky, but for the last few nights he has waken up between 6 and 8:30 am, now those are the mornings we get that extra boost we all need ;) I’m really hoping he stays that way too, especially as I adjust going back to work!

So that was Lucas is a nutshell this past month!  He has been such a good boy and so much fun.  He’s our little sidekick now and hangs with us  wherever we go!  We love getting him out & about and all tired out!

I caved in and got some Sears pictures done, I just couldn’t resist!  Daddy was gone so I needed something to tie us over for his 3 months session!

Pumpkin Patch!!!

What a beautiful fall day to visit the pumpkin patch!  This year we went to the Irvine Ranch Pumpkin Patch instead and we loved it!  It was little more crowded then we had expected, but still well worth it!  It has been forever since we have been to Irvine Ranch, and we know we’ll be frequenting it much more often now that we have little guy- it is absolutely beautiful and there is so much to do there!  Here is some pics from all our fun, enjoy!   P.S. Thanks Aunt Kimmy for my costume!!!
